Emerging Young Professionals (EYP)

In 2010, to recognize young business leaders in our community, the Chamber introduced Emerging Young Professionals (EYP). Two members, Kristen Stanley, a local attorney of Ingram and Stanley, and Linda Larkin, Marketing Director for Property Title, took the initiative and have exceeded the expectations of the chamber board.

This dynamic group of individuals meet once a month, rotating a lunch and after hour networking schedule. They were instrumental in providing over 200 dresses in the "Prom n Aid" Campaign which were distributed to high school kids who could not afford dresses for their senior Prom.

This summer they headed up a school supply drive which supplied thousands of dollars of paper, pens, pencils, folders, jump drives, etc to local children who are less fortunate to have new school supplies. The school supply project will be a continued annual event.

At each meeting, you will find the bucket that is used to collect "Coins to cure Cancer" on behalf of their yearly Relay for Life Team. The passion in participating in this event is evidence by this active group of volunteers.

The EYPs are looking forward to providing a mentor program through K-Bar-B and HOYST, an organization raising awareness and of homeless children in St. Tammany, finding results for their safety and providing mentorship in their lives.

Working with the local group, Slidell Ladies for Liberty, the EYPs are assisting in providing Care Packages for the local military citizens that are deployed from our area.

Bringing together the talents and insights of Emerging Young Professionals, ages 21-40, in the East St. Tammany region is what EYP is all about. EYP is simply a network of young professionals: a dynamic and diverse group of peers with a passion for making a difference, a willingness to learn, the desire to build important relationships, and the energy to get involved in the community.
