Emerging Young Professionals (EYP)
In 2010, to recognize young business leaders in our community, the Chamber introduced Emerging Young Professionals (EYP). Two members, Kristen Stanley, a local attorney, and Linda Larkin, Marketing Director for Patriot Title, took the initiative and have exceeded the expectations of the chamber board. This dynamic group of individuals meet at least once a month, with local business sponsored luncheons and after hours networking events scheduled throughout the year.
EYP proudly sponsors a local school supply drive that supplies thousands of dollars worth of paper, pens, pencils, folders, jump drives, etc to local children who are less fortunate and in need of new school supplies. The school supply project is an annual event.
The EYPs are also passionate about Relay For Life, an annual event that raises money for the American Cancer Society. The passion for participating in this event is evident by this active group of volunteers.
Working with the local group, Slidell Ladies for Liberty, the EYPs collect supplies twice a year to assist in providing Care Packages for our local military deployed overseas. These care packages provide our Local Hero's with basic necessities, movies, and baked goods.
EYP's are also involved with Boy Scouts of America, and actively participate in fundraising events in support of the local organization
Bringing together the talents and insights of Emerging Young Professionals, ages 21-40, in the East St. Tammany region is what EYP is all about. EYP is simply a network of young professionals: a dynamic and diverse group of peers with a passion for making a difference, a willingness to learn, the desire to build important relationships, and the energy to get involved in the community.
